We have just been informed by the Kirkley Manor Nursing Home that Roy died on 3rd February, with apologies for not telling us earlier.
His funeral is being arranged by the nursing home in coniunction with the funeral director, and in view of Roy’s aversion to religion and dislike of formal functions it is likely to be a minimalist affair. If appropriate, they will let us know the details in due course.
Although he has not been present at the Museum since he was suddenly taken into care at Trollevbus Weekend 2021. Rov’s legacv will forever live on. Without his knowledge and enthusiasm over a period of more than 50 vears we may not be benefitting from the tram and trolleybus overhead system that we can take such pride in now, and he also ordered and managed all our ticket supplies over the years and undertook various other functions too.
Rest in peace Roy.
